Accessibility FAQs

FAQs contains dynamic content that is frequently updated, so please check back often. If you have a question to add to the list, contact us.

"Do the technologies and services you offer adhere to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act?"

Yes, all of our products are developed according to Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 standards. Areas where we fall short of those standards are outlined in the VPATs for each product. VPATs can be found on the Product VPATs page.

"Do your applications conform with accessibility standards set forth in the WCAG 2.0?"

Yes, we follow WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards when developing all of our products. Any known issues or places where we fall short of those standards are outlined on the Accessibility Roadmaps page along with approximate timelines for resolution.

"Are your application ADA compliant?"

While the Americans With Disabilities Act (or ADA) broadly prohibits discrimination based on disability, we strive for Section 508 compliance since this specifically focuses on federal agencies to make their electronic and information technologies accessible to people with disabilities.

"I need a VPAT, but...where do I start?"

You will need to gather several pieces of information from your institution to find the particular VPAT you need:

  • What CollegeSource product(s) does your school use? Each product has a separately maintained VPAT.
  • What are the version number(s)? VPATs and other accessibility documentation is version-controlled, that is, updated with every release.
  • Navigate to the list of product VPATs here. Share, print, or export as a PDF.
"What screen readers do you support?"

We support all screen readers, but we specifically test against NVDA (NVDA is specifically intended for use in Firefox.) Our development team utilizes VoiceOver.
