Equivalency Explorer: Course Tag Audit

This report is primarily intended for use in states where coordination of a general education (or other) tagging scheme is in place. The tool assembles a list of courses from an institution that have one or more associated tags. This list is then compared to a set of equivalencies.

 Select the institution using the arrow button to the left of the row.

Click the arrow button for the school that you would like to review.

 Select a Data Set for the transfer institution:

Use the dropdown list to select the desired catalog year (data set).

 A list of all of the courses with Course Tags displays. Nothing is being evaluated. The EQUIVALENCY INFO column will display your equivalency (if you have one) to the source course. The DETAIL column will show an UNDETERMINED link for the courses that don’t have a defined equivalency, or a VIEW button for those that do.

Use the BREADCRUMBS

to retrace your steps.

Use these tools to research the school: Profile, Website, Transfer key (if gold).

Click the

UNDETERMINED link

to create an equivalency to the associated course.

The list of courses with Course Tags from the selected institution.

Click VIEW to see an equivalency.

Click the UNDETERMINED link to create an equivalency or an evaluation task.

 Click the UNDETERMINED link to create an equivalency or an evaluation task. (A message displays)

Use the

BREADCRUMBS

to retrace your steps.

 Click OK to view the Course Description.

Use the institution profile icon to see the calendar system, grading system and/or the accreditation for the selected institution.

Use the Globe icon to access the institution’s website.

Use the Key icon to access the institution’s transcript key (if it’s gold).

Use the envelope icon to e-mail the list of courses and course descriptions.

Use the printer icon to print out the list of courses and course descriptions.

Use the footprints icon to create an Evaluation Task in the Evaluation Tracker Workflow.

Use the puzzle piece icon to search for an equivalency/look to see if you already have an equivalency (if the icon is gold, you do not have an equivalency defined, if it is gray, there is an existing equivalency for the course.)

 Proceed using the puzzle piece to search for or create an equivalency, or use the icon to create an evaluation task and route the course through the Evaluation Tracker Workflow to have the course evaluated for an equivalency.

Because you are looking at course tags, this would virtually always be a SINGLE MODE task.

Assign to an evaluator.

Add comments (optional).

Check the SEND E-MAIL ALERT? checkbox to send the evaluator a message that an evaluation task has been created.

Click SUBMIT to create

the evaluation task.

Click RESET to reset the task defaults.

Click your browser back button to return to the Equivalency Explorer.

These is the course description (with tag(s)) the evaluator will see.

 Once you have created equivalencies, they will be displayed in the report.

 Where equivalencies exist for your institution, you will see the equivalency listed. If you want to view details, click on the image button to the right of each line.
