Manage > User Preferences
The Manage menu contains items that allow you to maintain Security and Access to the features available in TES for the users authorized to use it on your campus. Every authorized user will have access to the User Preferences option. The remaining five (5) items in the menu are restricted to those with the TES Administrator User Right.
Manage User Preferences
The User Preferences screen is available to everyone that has access to TES. Users can change their password and set their default login page for TES in the User Preferences feature.
Users can use the CHANGE MY PASSWORD section to change their password.
Enter (and re-enter) your new Password.
Click SUBMIT to change your password.
- The TES Administrator should encourage all Users to change their password to something they can remember. Enter the password a second time to confirm, and click the SUBMIT button. The password will be changed, and the user will be logged out. They can then log back in with the new password.
- The other feature that is available in the User Preferences feature is the ability to select your TES homepage – called SET MY HOMEPAGE. This allows users to select a default homepage that will display immediately upon logging in. The options that are available are dependent upon the User’s assigned User Rights. Users with access to TES but with no User Rights assigned will have only two (2) options to choose from. At the other end of the spectrum, Users with every User Right assigned will have sixteen (16) different choices. The Rights assigned determine the pages that are available.
The set my homepage feature pages are determined by the User Rights that the User has been assigned.
Users with access but no User Rights will have two (2) choices.
Users with all User Rights assigned will have sixteen (16) choices.
- If a User that has defined a default homepage that is dependent upon a particular User Right, and the User Right is removed, they will be redirected to the User Preferences page and prompted to select a new homepage.
A Specialized Case: The Faculty Evaluator
Are you using the Evaluation Tracker Workflow? Do you have Users that have the Evaluation Tracker User Right to allow them to evaluate potential equivalencies?
A faculty evaluator can set the My Evaluations Queue as their default homepage so that it will automatically display when they log in – making it even easier to get in and get their work done!
If so, they can set the My Evaluations queue as their default homepage so that they open to their pending Evaluation Tasks as soon as they log in. What could be simpler than that?!
