- Transfer tab

In addition to Replacement functionality, the Course Bundles also have Transfer functionality. The Transfer tab corresponds to the Will My Courses Transfer? path in the Transferology application for the student. Saved Transfer Bundles appear in the table as a list of interactive hyperlinks:

Lab users navigating to the Advising & RecruitingCourse Bundles menu will see the Course Bundles page and its tabbed layout. Up to three tabs representing the Transfer path (default), Replacement path, and (possibly) Empty display.

If no transfer bundles have yet been saved, the table will appear empty. The user can create a new transfer bundle by clicking Create Transfer Bundle ():

Search for Matches

View the equivalencies for the bundled courses by clicking the green Search for Matches button ().

Schools Found Page

The Schools Found page displays a list of all institutions from Transferology with at least one match to the coursework, in order of descending percentage match.

A "match" is an established equivalency.

By default, the institution you have logged in from is automatically pushed to the top of the list, regardless of percentage match.

In the screenshot below, the user can view the full profile for the University of Toledo and then view matches for Wright State University:

In our example above, 24 institutions have matches to the transfer course list. (Since this list may be extensive, you may Filter or Sort through the search results.)

Below is a list of the interactive areas of the Schools Found page on the transfer path:

Interactive Element Icon/Button Description
% Match

Displays the percentage match an institution has with user-selected parameters; links to the institution page with a tabbed summary of course matches (left) and the school profile (right). See View a Match.

Filter and Sort

Filter and Sort options can narrow the matches even further to meet your specific needs. Two areas allow for filtering the Schools Found results:

  • Filter Text Field (top of page) allows filtering by school or by city
  • Sort/Filter Box (top right of page) allows sorting and filtering:

    • Sort
      • Match
      • Distance
      • Population
      • Tuition
    • Filter
      • Distance (miles or zip code)
      • State
      • Tuition
      • Population
      • School Type
      • Year (4-year or 2-year institution)

A red "no matches found" alert appears at the top of the page when filtering criteria returns no matches.

Select fewer filters or clear existing filters and try again.

For example, you may narrow the matches to only include those schools that reside within a certain distance of your zip code (in the example below, less than 50 miles):

Use the Sort/Filter box on the right to focus only on a specified selection of the list. Also note the number of matches excluded based upon the selected filter.

Sort rearranges all of the matches to show in a particular order that the user dictates from the drop-down menu:

  • Best Match (top, default)
  • Distance Increasing
  • Distance Decreasing
  • Population Increasing
  • Population Decreasing
  • Tuition Increasing
  • Tuition Decreasing

Filter selects only certain matches to show that fit within the parameters selected by the user from the drop-down menu:

Under the distance filter, change the zip code at any time by clicking on the current zip code [of the school name(s) input]:

View a Transfer Course Match

You may view the courses at a selected institution to view transfer course options. On the Schools Found page, click on an institution's green Percent Match button with the desired match.  A "match" is an established equivalency.

Add any school as a Favorite () by hovering the mouse next to the institution name and clicking the star:

The school match page is generated, revealing how the institution matches (or does not match):

Tabs may include the following:

  • Matches: courses that match
  • Misses: courses that have been evaluated and will not transfer
  • Maybes: courses that have not been evaluated
  • Taken Here: courses taken at the home school
TES Mode

If your institution has an active subscription to TES and Transferology, then you have access to the TES evaluation integration. The TES Mode tab helps users target the courses from other institutions for which student most want transfer answers. If you institution uses this integration, you may be assigned the role of TES Evaluator, which allows you to send unarticulated courses (i.e., courses listed on the Maybes tab) from the Transferology Lab to the TES evaluation workflow in the Course Bundles area.

TES Mode may be available here in the Course Bundles area as well as in Unknown Equivalencies. For more details, click here.

Available tabs may include any combination of the following: Mathches, Miss, Maybe, and/or Taken Here:

  • Matches: (selected by default) specific courses a student may be awarded after transferring, assuming a passing grade was earned in the transferred course

The list of matches from different institutions may display different notes about the transfer rule that appear as tooltips:

Icon Note About This Transfer Rule

  • Maybes: courses not yet review by this school to confirm they will successfully transfer

  • Misses: (2 types) courses that will not transfer; courses that will transfer if the student takes additional coursework

  • Taken Here: courses that have been taken at this school

In the example above, the Matches tab reveals that eleven courses from Sinclair Community College will successfully transfer to Miami University. Next, the user must select which program at Miami University to apply the course credits toward.

Apply Courses to a Program

When a school has the ability to run audits, a green Apply Courses to a Program button () appears within the School Profile section on the right side of the screen.

Apply Courses to a Program directs users to the school's complete alphabetical program list where a selection can be made:

In the example above, the Accountancy program is selected.

Not all institutions have the ability to run audits. When this is the case, the See How Your Courses Might Apply to This Program button will not appear in the School

Profile Section:

Click See How Your Courses Might Apply to This Program button () to walk through a sequence of question/answer pop-up dialog boxes (4 maximum). These dialog boxes help the application provide additional information to the user. Proceed through the boxes via the Next button ():

Have you completed the Ohio Transfer Mode?

If so, where?

The first dialog box is optional and may/may not display.

This box typically poses questions that are not

universally applicable (e.g., state-specific questions).

What courses should be included when running

this program?

-include a bundle

-include no coursework

This dialog box addresses course inclusion.

View how courses from another school may apply

to this program?

This dialog box allows for applying courses from

another school.

Advisor must read the assumption of a passing grade

statement and check the checkbox before the

Run Audit button is activated

The last dialog box is a disclaimer of understanding

before proceeding.

Behind the scenes, an e-mail from CollegeSource Quality Assurance confirming the program request is generated to the user.

Generate an Audit

A green alert bubble confirming the plan request momentarily appears in the upper right corner:

Click directly on this alert bubble, or go to the Advising & Recruiting >Programs>My Program Requests area of Transferology to view the newest Program Request populating the top row of the table.

Click on a program name hyperlink to display the student audit. In the example below, an audit for the Agronomy program at The Ohio State University is illustrated:

When waiting for audits to return, you may need to wait momentarily and click the Refresh button ().

You may output the information via the Email Program () or Print () buttons. or click Return to Programs () to return to the previous screen.
