Transferology Lab Basics
Many of these basic aspects of the Lab are consistent throughout the application, regardless of your assigned user role.
Transferology Lab Home Page
The Transferology Lab home page is the starting point for accessing your school's account.
Create an Account
If you need to create a new Transferology Lab account, click the Request Lab Account link.
Only schools that subscribe to Transferology are granted Lab access.
The Request Lab Account page displays:
Complete the Required fields (*):
- Name
- School
- Job Title
- Phone
- Reason
Optional field:
- Copy Me: select (click) this checkbox to receive e-mail notification of your account request
Complete the form submission by clicking the Send Request button ().
The request is sent to the School Administrator on your campus--CollegeSource does not approve accounts. Your School Administrator will verify that you need a Transferology Lab account, and assign you to the appropriate user role(s) within the app.
Sign In/Log in
If you have an existing account, access the Transferology Lab login from the Transferology Lab home page. Sign in requires a valid Email and Password:
Password
The consolidation of user accounts between Transferology Lab and TES with the 1.6 release means a single, unified password for each user. If you experience any issue logging in, reset the password via the Can't log in? link.
Forgot Your Password or Need to Reset
If you simply forgot your Transferology password, click the Can't Sign In? link. The Can't Sign In? page displays:Click the hyperlink to request a password reset:
Enter your email address to proceed. Complete the form submission by clicking the Request Password Reset button ().
Enter Recovery Code
When you request a password reset in the Lab, an email is generated that contains a recovery code. Enter this code in the "Recovery Code" text box to confirm the password reset.
You will then be logged in to Transferology and prompted to change your password immediately. Be sure to change your password to something unique that can be easily remembered.
Change Your Password
You may only change your password once you have successfully logged into the application.
All users can change their passwords by clicking their user names in the upper right part of the menu. Click the My Profile option, then click the Update Password tab:
NOTE: Because passwords were unified in Transferology Lab 1.6, changing the user password on the My Profile page will also change the password for TES. (i.e., Transferology Lab password=TES password)
Keep Me Logged In
The [ ] Keep me logged in checkbox provides a convenient way for users to remain signed in to the application as they work:
As a best practice, we recommend keeping this option selected ("checked") to avoid expired sessions and unplanned logouts that may interrupt workflow.
Logout
End your Transferology session from any screen in the application by logging out. Click your user name in the User menu (upper-right corner) to view the drop-down menu containing Logout:
You will be returned to the initial Sign in screen to log back into the application.
Hyperlinks
Hyperlinks help navigate between functional areas within the application, generally appearing as black text or colored buttons/icons, usually with a tooltip that momentarily appears upon mouse hover:

When processing information within certain areas of Transferology, colored text bubbles may momentarily appear onscreen to notify the user. The bubbles generally appear in the upper-right part of the screen near the username, and only display temporarily (about 5 seconds). Color and tooltip information can help guide you through the application.
